AET developed a patented lignite-based soil enhancer/amendment (Trademark Ginate®) through a proprietary biological process. Ginate® has been field proven to raise soil quality, enhance soil microbiomes and promote plants growth. Data from leading institutes such as Colorado State University, University of Wyoming, and Collindale Golf Course (Fort Collins, CO) have shown that show significant features and performances of Ginate®:
Leveraging the above functions, Ginate® has been supported by the Department of Energy ARPA-E program, as one of the seven institutes to receive the Phytomining grant to explore its applications in helping soil microbes and "hyperaccumulator" plants to extract nickel (and potentially other valuable metals) from serpentine soils, establishing a cost-effective and sustainable technological niches. with consumable catalysts that enhance biogenic coalbed natural gas (BCBNG) production. In addition to Phytomining, other main applications for Ginate® include: forest maintenance, post-fire reforestation, landscaping, golf courses and parks, roadside vegetation coverage and soil maintenance, land and mine surface reclamation, as well as organic growth and large scale agriculture.
